Manage your life and prosperity in the dark ages

SAELIG is a game where you live in the dark ages and you have to try to find a way to prosper and survive. It is very similar to a game called Guild 2. The graphics are very well rendered and textured, and the gameplay is slow but fun if you enjoy simulation and role playing games.

Build a life and a business in the dark ages

The aim of the game is to prosper. How you decide to prosper is up to you. If you wish, you may save up your money and start a business, or you may find love and marry somebody with money. You may work against your competitors by honestly offering plenty of goods, or you can take aggressive actions by burning down their house. SAELIG is frighteningly like Guild 2, but it has less to do. That is not a criticism because Guild 2 becomes boring because there is plenty to do and no reason to do it. However, when you play this game, you get the feeling you are genuinely at risk of starving in the street if you mess up. With that said, the begging function lower the “risk” stakes a little too much.

A simulation and role playing game

SAELIG is somewhat of an open world, but the maps are not very big. There are no tasks or goals that you have to fulfil in order to avoid losing. The only aim is to become as prosperous as possible so that you may unlock better things in the game, such as the ability to buy more buildings. The game has relationships, buffs, skill building, health bars, missions, wants, needs, character based interactions, and you may control your character directly.

PROS

  • A nice open world that encourages active play
  • Ideal for simulation lovers and management game lovers

CONS

  • There’s a point where you have nothing left to do
  • It is a little too easy to quickly prosper
